My Seventh Week in Crete: Visits, Challenges and Team Activities
This week was quite eventful, both at work and in our free time. We had visitors from Germany, continued making progress on our projects, and spent some enjoyable time together as a group.
Monday, 11 May 2026 - Visit from Our Instructors
On Monday, our instructor from Germany arrived to visit us at the villa. It was nice to see them again and show them how we have been living during our time in Crete.
We gave them a tour of the house and talked about our daily routines, our work placements, and our experiences so far. It was interesting to reflect on how much had happened since we first arrived.
In the evening, we spent some more time together and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere at the villa.
Tuesday, 12 May 2026 - Office Visit and Barbecue Evening
On Tuesday, our instructors visited the MD Hellas office and spoke with our supervisor, Maria, about our progress and the projects we have been working on.
It was nice to hear positive feedback about our work and see how much we had learned over the past weeks.
Later that evening, we organised a barbecue at the villa. We spent time by the pool, enjoyed the good weather, and talked about our experiences in Crete. It was a great way to relax after a productive day.

Wednesday, 13 May 2026 - A Relaxed Day
Wednesday was a quieter day. After work, we spent some time at the villa and enjoyed a relaxed evening together.
We talked about our plans for the remaining weeks and reflected on some of the experiences we had already shared during our stay in Crete.
Thursday, 14 May 2026 - Project Integration
On Thursday, I continued working on the Edureg project and made further progress on my tasks. As the internship is slowly coming to an end, it is nice to see how much the project has developed over the past weeks.
After work, we drove to Stalida, where we spent some time at the beach. The weather was great, and it was nice to relax by the sea after a busy day at work.
Later, we went out for dinner together. We enjoyed the evening, talked about our experiences in Crete, and spent some quality time as a group. It was a simple but really enjoyable evening and one of the highlights of the week.

Friday, 15 May 2026 - Solving Problems
Friday was one of the more challenging days at work. We experienced issues with our SQLite database, which caused some data to become unavailable.
As a result, a large part of the day was spent troubleshooting the problem and restoring the missing data. Although it was frustrating at times, it was also a valuable learning experience and showed me how important backups and careful database management are.
Saturday, 16 May 2026 - Water Park Fun
On Saturday, we visited a local water park. It was a lot of fun and a nice change from our usual routine. We spent most of the day trying different water slides, relaxing in the sun, and enjoying the warm weather.
After leaving the water park, we drove to Analipsi, where we went out for dinner together. I had garlic bread and a pan of fried mushrooms, which was definitely the highlight of the meal for me. Everything tasted really good, and it was nice to sit together after such an active day.
Later that evening, Marvin, Moritz, and I finished a puzzle that we had started earlier that morning. It took us quite a while, but it felt really satisfying to finally complete it. It was a relaxing way to end the day after all the activities.

Sunday, 17 May 2026 - Football and Relaxation
On Sunday, we spent most of the day relaxing and watching the final Bundesliga matchday together.
We set up a viewing area in the garden and enjoyed the matches while making the most of the sunny weather. It was a very relaxed day and a nice way to prepare for the final phase of our internship.
Looking Back on My Seventh Week
Overall, I really enjoyed this week. It was nice to see our instructors again and show them how we have been living and working in Crete.
The week had a good mix of work and free time. I enjoyed our trip to Stalida, the day at the water park, and the evening in Analipsi. Finishing the puzzle with Marvin and Moritz was also a fun moment.
As my time in Crete is slowly coming to an end, I’m trying to enjoy every day and make the most of the experiences I still have here.
