From Calm Days to Chaos
Week four of my Erasmus stay in Crete started pretty normal and honestly a bit repetitive. From Monday to Wednesday, we were mainly working at Psifiakos Kosmos, focusing on bug fixes and testing the UI. It was a lot of the same tasks, but you could really see the progress we were making, which felt good.
On Wednesday evening, we finally did something different and went bowling in Heraklion. It was a really fun break from the routine, and just nice to do something together that had nothing to do with work.
Thursday and Friday were very similar again — working during the day, fixing bugs, testing, and then spending the afternoons by the pool. That part has kind of become our routine here, just relaxing after work, enjoying the weather, and not stressing too much.
Saturday was definitely the craziest day of the week. We had a car accident — a Greek woman drove into the front right side of our car. The airbags went off, which was pretty scary in that moment. Everything happened really fast. Later that evening, I had to go to the hospital and spent about four hours in the emergency room to make sure everything was okay. It was exhausting and honestly not how I expected the day to go at all.
On Sunday, I just took it slow. I didn’t really do much except rest and recover from the accident. I think I needed that to process everything a bit.
Overall, this week started off pretty chill and routine, but ended in a way I definitely won’t forget. It kind of made me realize how quickly things can change, and not to take the calm days for granted.
