Week 7: Final Documentation and Reflection
As the seventh week on Crete comes to a close, the atmosphere in the house has shifted noticeably. We have settled into such a natural rhythm of communal living that the daily routines of sharing meals and managing our space near Heraklion feel like second nature. With the end of the internship in sight, our evening conversations in the garden have become more reflective. We spent quite a bit of time this week talking about how much we have changed since we first arrived, often accompanied by Kayto(Laki), the local cat, who has become a constant presence during our downtime.
At the office at MD Hellas, my workload transitioned toward the formal and administrative conclusion of the Erasmus program. A major priority was securing the Europass Mobility documents and ensuring that all sections of the Learning Agreement were completed and signed. Maria, my supervisor, was instrumental in this process, helping me certify the technical skills I have acquired over the past two months. Alongside this paperwork, I continued to refine the InternConnect platform. Knowing that MD Hellas relies on these systems to manage placements and accommodations for students across Europe, I wanted to ensure the interface was as polished and functional as possible.
Our cultural activities this week were more low key, allowing us to soak in the local atmosphere without the rush of long road trips. We spent time revisiting our favorite spots in the center of Heraklion and taking long walks along the coast. The weather remained excellent, which made the daily commute to Petrou Parasiri much more enjoyable. These quiet moments of Mediterranean life have become a highlight of the experience, providing a sense of stability and peace as we prepare for our final days on the island.
