A Change of Scenery and Back to Development

A Change of Scenery and Back to Development

The sixth week of my internship began with some time off in Chania. Even though the weather was not quite as perfect as we had hoped, the charm of the old town and the comfort of our hotel made it a memorable stay. We spent our time walking through the historic streets and enjoying the atmosphere of the harbor before heading back toward Heraklion to prepare for the upcoming work week.

Returning to the office on Tuesday marked a shift in my current project at MD Hellas. After spending significant time on the backend logic of the Edureg platform, I have now started the redesign phase. Working with HTML and CSS to improve the user interface for teachers and students.

Laki, the local cat, even decided to provide some entertainment by playing a game of football.

The middle of the week was a mix of relaxation and typical house life. On Wednesday evening, we gathered to watch the Champions League semi final. It was a close call during dinner when Laki tried to snatch a piece of my pizza, proving that he is just as interested in our food as he is in playing football.

On Thursday, the whole group came together to cook a large batch of Bolognese. We spent the evening eating in the garden, which has become one of our favorite ways to wind down and talk about our experiences.

Friday brought a bit more action as we decided to go paintballing. It was an intense afternoon, and while I definitely came away with a few bruises, the team-building aspect was great. We ended the day at a tavern, rewarding ourselves with chicken souvlaki and garlic bread. These meals are a perfect way to experience the local cuisine while recovering from a long week of work and physical activity.

The weekend was much calmer, especially since the weather finally cleared up. On Saturday, we drove into the center of Heraklion for some ice cream and spent the rest of the day by the pool at our house. Sunday followed a similar rhythm, enjoying the sun and finishing the week with another visit to a local tavern. As we enter the final two weeks of our intership.
