Week 2 – Work, Sun, and Unexpected Adventures
The second week of my Erasmus stay on Crete started with getting deeper into our work at Psifiakos Kosmos. On Monday, we continued working on the 10-inch terminal, combined with testing and bug reporting. After work, I went for a jog, which is quickly becoming part of my routine here.
Tuesday was another productive day, focusing on configuring the vertical terminal and continuing testing. But the highlight of the day was definitely enjoying the amazing weather, we finally jumped into the pool for the first time, which made it really start to feel like summer.
On Wednesday, we kept working on testing and bug reporting. After work, we went back to our Airbnb in Episkopi, relaxed by the pool, and watched the UEFA Champions League together, a perfect combination of chilling and entertainment.
Thursday followed a similar work routine, but the evening was special, we had a barbecue at the Airbnb and spent more time in the pool, enjoying the warm evenings and good company.
Friday was a standard workday, and after a short rest at home, we planned to go out in Heraklion. However, due to the Easter weekend and the importance of the Greek Orthodox Easter, most places were closed. Instead, our night turned into a spontaneous city tour, which was actually a really cool way to experience Heraklion in a quieter atmosphere.
Saturday started very relaxed, I slept in, went jogging, and cooled off in the pool afterward while enjoying the sunny weather. In the evening, we tried going out again, and this time we were successful: we went to Hersonissos and found an Irish pub with a great party atmosphere. It turned out to be one of the most fun nights so far.
On Sunday, I slept until the afternoon and took it slow. Later, we headed to Heraklion for a small city walk through the old town and had lunch at a restaurant. The day ended with a relaxed evening in the garden at our Airbnb.

Overall, week two was a great mix of work, relaxation, and adapting to local culture, especially learning how holidays can completely change the rhythm of life here.
