Week 6 – Quiet, sunny, and productive

The sixth week of my internship was significantly quieter than the previous ones – and that was exactly what I needed. No busy schedule, no spontaneous trips, just a week in my usual routine. Sometimes that's the best way to spend time.

I spent most of my evenings relaxing by the pool. The weather in Heraklion was perfect, and there's hardly anything better than jumping into the water after a workday and soaking up the Greek sun. These little moments of peace have become a regular part of my daily life here, and I know I'll miss them once the internship is over.

At work this week, I was based at Twinsoft and mainly focused on UI/UX testing. It was a welcome change to shift perspectives and look at an application not from a developer's point of view, but from the user's. When testing user interfaces, you quickly realize how many small details determine whether something feels intuitive or not. It's a different way of thinking than when writing code, but just as valuable—perhaps even more so, considering how directly it impacts the user experience.

Honestly, my personal life this week can be summed up in a few words: work, pool, eat, sleep, repeat. Laki, our house cat, also took it easy this week, mostly hiding in shady corners of the garden—an animal with a clearly good sense for cozy weeks.

Overall, it was a week that shows an internship abroad doesn't always have to be about highlights and adventures. Sometimes it's the quiet everyday life that gives you the most—a bit of routine, a bit of sunshine, and the feeling of having arrived.
