My Third Week in Crete: From Daily Life to Ancient Crete
By now, things are starting to feel more familiar. Work is becoming more routine, and I feel more comfortable with everything around me. At the same time, the week still had a good mix of different activities, from relaxed days to going out and visiting new places like Knossos.
Monday, 13 April 2026 - A Holiday in Heraklion
On Monday, we didn’t have to work because it was a public holiday in Greece (Orthodox Easter Monday). It was nice to have a free day at the start of the week.
We decided to go to Heraklion, where we first sat at a café and just relaxed for a while. After that, we walked through the city and explored a bit more without any real plan, which made the day feel very easy and relaxed.
Later, we went to the beach, where we spent some time by the sea. We even collected a few stones, which was surprisingly fun. While we were there, we also saw a very cute cat, which made the moment even nicer.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable and relaxed way to spend the holiday.

Tuesday, 14 April 2026 - Progress at Work
On Tuesday, we went back to work and continued with our projects.
Regarding my professional responsibilities, work on the Edureg project is progressing steadily. I have mainly been focusing on the database structure of the management system, where I made good progress with the SQLite implementation this week. This helps ensure that the system can properly handle data for teachers and students.
At the same time, I am getting more comfortable with the Django framework, as I start to understand better how the different parts of the system work together.

Wednesday, 15 April 2026 - A Quiet Day
On Wednesday, we didn’t do much after work, which was actually quite nice.
We went for a short walk and spent some time outside. Later, we watched champions league together, which made the evening feel relaxed and uncomplicated. It was a calm day, but sometimes those are needed.

Thursday, 16 April 2026 - Barbecue Evening
Towards the end of the week, things became a bit more social again.
On Thursday, we had a barbecue together at our accommodation. We made burgers and spent the evening outside, enjoying the warm weather.
Everyone helped a bit, and we sat together for quite a while, talking and just relaxing. It was a simple evening, but really nice and a good way to spend time together after the workdays.

Friday, 17 April 2026 - Irish Pub and Weekend Start
On Friday, we went out to an Irish pub in the evening. It was a nice change from staying at home, and it really felt like the start of the weekend.
We spent some time there, talked a lot, and just enjoyed the atmosphere. It was a fun and relaxed evening, and a good way to end the week.
Saturday 18 April 2026 - BBQ and Basketball
On Saturday, we stayed at home and had another barbecue in the garden, making the most of the warm weather.
In the evening, we watched the NBA Playoffs together, which was fun and a good way to spend time as a group. It was a relaxed day overall, but still very enjoyable.

Sunday, 19 April 2026 - Visiting Knossos
On Sunday, we visited the Palace of Knossos, which was a completely different experience compared to the rest of the week.
It was really interesting to see such an important historical place and get some cultural impressions of Crete. The whole area was very impressive, and it was fascinating to think about how people lived there in the past.
It was definitely one of the highlights of the week and a nice change from our usual activities.

Looking Back on My Third Week
Overall, this week was a good mix of work, relaxing moments, and new experiences.
The holiday on Monday, the time at the beach, and the visit to Knossos added something special to the week. At the same time, the quieter days helped to balance everything out.
I feel like I’m getting more used to life here, both at work and in my free time. Everything feels a bit more normal now, and I’m looking forward to what the next weeks will bring.
