Week 6 – Routine, Sports, and Family Visits
Week six on Crete was a mix of work, relaxing routines, and spending time with friends and family.
On Monday, I brought my girlfriend to the airport before work. At Psifiakos Kosmos, we worked on assembling more terminal stands and reviewed code together with Kirill, one of my colleagues. After work, I watched Game 7 between Toronto and Cleveland from the first round of the NBA Playoffs, chilled with my colleagues, and spent the evening playing video games.
Tuesday was more practical and hands-on. We had another outside installation job in Heraklion, where we installed and implemented terminals. After work, I went jogging, cooled off in the pool, watched NBA highlights from the night before, and later played Civilization with Marvin.
Wednesday focused on testing a new version of the Kitchen Management System (KMS) and reporting bugs. After work, Moritz, Marvin, and I relaxed in the pool and enjoyed the sunny weather. In the evening, I watched more NBA games and continued our Civilization session from the previous day.
Thursday followed almost the same routine as Wednesday, with work, testing, pool time, NBA games, and gaming in the evening.
Friday was a relaxed workday, but the highlight came afterward: our group went paintballing together, which was a lot of fun. Later, we had dinner at a restaurant and ended the evening in the yard of our Airbnb with drinks and good conversations.
Saturday started slowly, and in the afternoon I picked up my brother from the airport. We ate something together in Heraklion before heading back to our Airbnb in Episkopi. In the evening, we went out partying in Hersonissos.
Sunday was a classic chill day. We spent time in the pool, watched NBA games, went to a restaurant, and relaxed with some video games in the evening.
Overall, week six felt very balanced—by now, life in Crete had become a comfortable mix of work, hobbies, social activities, and enjoying the island lifestyle.
